Dosage and Administration

1. Blepharospasm For blepharospasm, reconstituted Meditoxin is injected with a sterile, 27–30 gauge needle without electromyographic guidance. The initial dose is 1.25–2.5 U (0.05 mL to 0.1 mL per site) into the medial and lateral pre-tarsal orbicularis oculi of the upper and lower lids.
2. Pediatric Cerebral Palsy For pediatric cerebral palsy, reconstituted Meditoxin is injected with a sterile, 26–30 gauge needle into each medial and lateral head of the gastrocnemius muscles. A total dose of 4 U/kg bodyweight is recommended for the affected gastrocnemius muscle in hemiplegic patients.
3. Glabellar Wrinkles Reconstituted Meditoxin (100U/2.5mL with 0.9% non-preserved sterile saline) is injected using a 30 gauge needle. Inject 20U into two sites on the corrugators muscle for each eye and one site on the procerus muscle, totaling 5 sites with 0.1 mL per site. Effects last approximately 3-4 months.
4. Muscle Spasticity The exact dosage and number of injections should be tailored individually based on muscle size, number, location, severity of spasticity, local muscle weakness, and patient’s response to previous treatment. Reconstituted Meditoxin is injected with a sterile 24–30 gauge needle for superficial muscles, with a longer needle for deeper muscles.
